Pencil42 is an IT consultancy company from Leuven with a happy bunch of 24 consultants. The sector in which they operate is booming. However, recruiting people is a difficult task. That's why Pencil42 decided to do things a little differently. And they needed Payflip for that ;).

Everyone is looking for the same type of profiles in this sector: a software developer, software architect or business analyst. But how do you stand out as an employer?
"In the end, we got 100% positive feedback from the staff. Everyone was excited about everything we rolled out with Payflip".
Ping-pong tables are no longer enough...
Stéphane Tombeur, one of the partners at Pencil42, is not the type to sit back and relax. "The sky is the limit," he says. But growing in a market where you can feel the breath of a competitor on your neck is no easy task. After all, everyone is looking for the same type of profiles in this sector: a software developer, software architect or business analyst. But how do you stand out as an employer? A ping pong table, fri-yay drinks or cool values on the wall no longer do the job.
"Paying out higher gross salaries was also not immediately on the cards. We are not Deloitte or Capgemini. So we had to find another solution," says Stéphane. The idea of an optimised pay package "à la carte" appealed to Stéphane, as it is in line with the (cool) values (on the wall) of the company: going the extra mile in a flexible way.
After launching a few racy search terms via Google, Stéphane noticed Payflip, a young start-up among the advertisements of major social secretariats. "The clear language of Payflip appealed to me enormously. Tax concepts such as copyright and cafeteria plans are explained in practical terms. Equally clear was their pricing. Really very SME-friendly. So these exotic concepts are (finally) becoming accessible to SMEs."
Smoothly through the smart-reward landscape
"Thanks to their legal and technical knowledge, Payflip, led by co-founder Maura, guided us smoothly through their smart reward projects. In total, we have worked together twice in a very successful way," explains Stéphane of Pencil42. The result? "In the end, we received 100% positive feedback from the employees. Everyone was excited about everything we rolled out with Payflip".
"We see the cooperation with Payflip as a kind of partnership. We have consulted together on several occasions about wage models and wage trends. We are both start-ups and that creates a bond and a better understanding. Payflip was very transparent. Which we appreciate enormously. Last but not least, I would like to praise their elegant pricing model. Ultimately, that is what made us decide to choose Payflip," concludes Stéphane.
